lucky ducky

second post of the day. means too much dilly-dallyin, not enough schoolin.
anway.

the man got the most amazing internship with warner music group couple days ago! it fits him so well considering how musically inclined he is. hes introduced me to an assload of artists that ive fallen in love with and will probably stay loyal to till i croak. and im sure its safe to say that the feeling's mutual. we met at ucr's orientation over summer, and our first real conversation other than "wow its hot out here" or "wow its really fuckin hot out here" was about the sprite liquid mix tour which we both attended. we got really riled up over it and since then, its been shows, his guitar and random conversations about music that brought us together. AND, for as long as it seems like ive known him, hes been making beautiful music. which is an even greater reason for why this internship is perfect for him.

artists under warner (of past and present):
AC/DC
Bjork
James Blunt
Boyz N Da Hood
Michelle Branch
Busta Rhymes
The Cure
The Darkness
Death Cab for Cutie
Missy Elliott
Fabolous
Garbage
Green Day
Kid Rock
Linkin Park
Madonna
Metallica
Morrissey
My Chemica Romance
The Velvet Underground
Murs
T.I.
Taking Back Sunday
Red Hot Chili Peppers
etc.

and may i add: there was only ONE position open. im quite jealous, but even more so proud. so, locals: stay posted. your favorite artist might possibly be promoting near you.

rock your body

and we thought we could finally breathe. hah.
at the last minute 909 got added on the bill for BODY ROCK which meant another week of late night practices and "oh fuck i woke up late again" mornings. 2 more days and it'll all be over with. and i write that with both relief and grief.

you can find me here this weekend. come say hi.

era 5.27

no school monday means party hard sunday.

havent been to era since me and the man went to go watch that crazy, sexy, cool mickey avalon character and that was way back when none of us knew what the hell era was. this time around we waited in line for 30 minutes just to move about 5 feet up the road and ended up paying a couple bucks more just to hurry up and get in. but it was well worth every pretty penny to spend a good ass night with some good ass company.

take it back

takin it back to the first year.
how the times have changed ;)

a dazzling place i never knew

yea, riverside's ghetto. and what?!

after chicago and down university is a pretty much trashy and prostitute infested area. but once you reach downtown, its like a whole new world. downtown rside is pretty much a hidden treasure. i suggest you park your car and just walk and explore. you'd be amazed at all the pretty treats to feed your eyes.

i was sent out there this particular day for an extra credit assignment for my art history class. we had to attend the california museum of photography to "record our overall experience" and the shit was great. just thought id share since i care:

LI ZHENSHENG -- RED-COLOR NEWS SOLDIER
DOCUMENTATION OF THE CULTURAL REVOLUTION

me n the sis did some extra exploring. ran across some cool yet creepy shit. just cus little kids like these scare the hell out of me:

FEAST: CHRISTY JOHNSON AND 33 CONFESSIONS
FIRST COMMUNION PHOTOGRAPHS

..and even more discoveries on the way back to the car:

id like to have a conversation with whoever created/posted these. i dig people who push my religious buttons. sometimes i argue against, sometimes i agree, sometimes im enlightened, sometimes i wanna slap the shit out of fools. that religion.. it sure is something else. id also like to give them a hug or two.

lesson learned: dont be a bum

been so long

i cant believe how much ive neglected this thing. but now that the chaos and insanity of last week has passed, i can update without the guilty feeling that i need to be somewhere doing something.

update one: midterms
basically, bombed them.
next.

update two: 909 banquet
last saturday (5.19) the current team invited alumni from the past 10 years to celebrate 909's 10th year anniversary. a majority of the time we spend together we dont give a shit how we look.. so everyone took this as an opportunity to get all spiff. hairs were did, makeup was caked (tastefully that is), dresses and suits were fancy shmancy. it was a drastic makeover from the usual ugly look of sweat pants and pulled back hair we all go for during practice.

love these girls

after dinner, we debuted our ultimate brawl set--never have i been hit and hit so many people during one performance before.. AND had fun doin it. but even better, to the alumni's surprise we busted out another performance, a tribute set with routines from past years. i felt honored to perform sets ive been watching since my junior year of high school.

so after a night of pictures, drinks, dancing, and noise complaints, we headed home... just long enough to change, and then headed right back to broadbent to take care of more ub7 ish.

around 2, 3, or 4 am

the office

poster makers

update three: ultimate brawl 7
.. the longest day of my life. woke up at 7am and jumped right into work. it was basically nonstop moving for a good 15 some hours. for those who didnt attend, im sorry. u missed out on a bomb show.

one of riverside's hidden treasures

it's over!

first: defending champs, non stop
second: cadc
third: choreo cookies

all the poster making, class skipping, and hell week practices till 530am were well worth it. and luckily, its not the end of my event planning dreams.. was offered to help plan/organize boogiezone.com's biggest dance collaboration/production "
eve".. exciting stuff.

coachella . 07

i'm a tad bit late, but whatever.

coachella 07: how ive been waiting forfuckinever for you.

luckily i got to experience it for the first in 05 right before its big break on television, kroq and every effing celebrities to-do list. its just nicer that way: low key and douche-bag-less. for those of you who think otherwise, it is undeniably worth every penny my boyfriend dropped on it (jk. don't judge me - i'm paying him back).

bc of our broke asses, camping was definitely out of the question. plus, none of us were down to eat, sleep, and shit in the dirty heat for 4 days/4 nights. camping is an amazing experience though, regardless of how trashy you feel. cant beat waking up to almost tripping over a guy in front of your tent with no blanket, no sleeping bag--just himself, wrapped in his puny little jacket positioned fetal-style. soon i came to find out he hitchhiked all the way from spokane, wa. love me stories like that.

all the performances were dope, but every fuckn artist had to mention somethin about politics. doesnt surprise me. some messages actually turned out to be pretty insightful. anyway, treat yo eyes:
